Things you shouldn’t worry about

  • Babies will often fall during learning to walk. It is quite natural as they are still figuring out the coordination needed to walk. Try to make your house as safe as possible for a baby and keep ample amounts of pillows and carpets so that the baby doesn’t get hurt.
  • Babies do not walk like adults, their paces are wobbly, and their feet may often appear flat. But these phenomena will in most cases go away as they start growing and the true arches come out.
  • Babies often are bow-legged in their first 1 or 2 years of their life as they were curled up in the uterus. It will straighten as they learn to walk in due time.

Most babies will start walking on their own, but if your baby doesn’t start walking by the 18th month, then it is good to consult a doctor. Also, contact a doctor if they fall always and their legs are still and doesn’t let them move. It is great to see the first few steps that will lead them to discover a whole new world.
